How ya doing BEEJAYADOGHE, I have a little problem with getting into my Gmail, Google+, YouTube, Google Play Store & Google Photos app. I changed my password in the middle of June (2 weeks ago) and here’s the catch – I wrote my passwords down to my original email address & the new password to my recovery email address to verify account so I’ve been through hours doing all of your suggestions before I came to se your ideas, however I do also have a recovery phone number to my Gmail account & that number was to a SIM card on a backup mobile phone & I no longer have access to that phone bcus it was destroyed. Lucky me I has a recovery email added to my original account but I can not login/sign in with my password I have written down so with that said is there a way I could get a verification code sent via text or call to a friend’s cell phone ONE TIME ONLY to access my Gmail & other accounts and create new passwords in order to not lose my pictures, contacts & music I’ve downloaded since 2014 when I created my account? By the way I created my original & recovery emails both on December 2014 before the Christmas holidays & that option didn’t work either trying to reset my password & to get in to my accounts, thank you for taking the to see if a friend can be of help besides you. I have tried the Account Recovery process several times, to no avail, however, every time that I have tried I have not been asked a secret question. I believe I remember being asked to select a series of secret questions and corresponding answers, but when I visit My Account settings/options I don’t see anything about that. I can’t remember my password, I just changed it 2 weeks ago, but I can still access my email through firefox because it was already signed in.

But I can’t access any of the settings because you need to verify your password. And now I am locked out of my google chrome browser. Thanks for the great post.I tried to recover my gmail password by entering(1) the phone numbers I had in my account (I did not have access to the phones at that moment)(2) when the account was created ( I think the date I gave was close but not sure if it was exact)(3) an email address that I could check at that moment (it was different than the one in my lost gmail account as I did not recall that). After entering the verification code emailed to me, it said “we could not verify this account belongs to you”. I found my phones a few minutes later and tried the password recovery process again. This time, after entering the verification code, it still kept asking me about the account creation date and my recovery email, none of which I knew exactly. My question is: Am I locked out of trying the recovery process because I tried a few times already? When can I try again? I KNOW my password but I got a new phone and changed my number as well but before doing so I forgot to turn off 2 Step verification.

I know my old number and I explained this in the recover acct form thing Google uses. I don’t know what month I set up the acct. I considered just resubmitting request until I went through all the months bit I’m afraid I’ll be permenantly locked out. I tried twice n quit. I know the account is still opened tho and even know the bkup email.which was set with 2 Step verification and the same OLD number.

I’ve got yrs worth of memories bkup to photos and all my kids but moments as they grew are on this acct. PLEASE HELP ME. Hey BeeJah,Here is a funky scenario I am trying to help my aunt with: She is logged into her Gmail on her iPad. She does not know her Gmail password.

The account was set up a few years ago by a former co-worker who is no longer around. My aunt’s recovery email is tied to her former co-worker’s email. We know the month and year the account was set up and a prior password. When Google asks for either one of these pieces of information, it wants to send an email to the former co-workers email.

This is not an option. Ideally, the recovery email should be sent to her actual working gmail account. I need to wipe her iPad but cannot because this is the only please she can see her gmail.
