At long last Skyrim Special Edition is here. And to celebrate it, I am releasing this 2K texture pack. It covers almost all vanilla landscape textures and most of the cities. I have been working very hard on this project for 2 months now with what little spare time I have in-between work and stuff. It is not complete and does not cover everything. I have not touched the DLC textures yet, but I will continue to work on it and release updates whenever I can.

I spend a lot of time on my work to make sure everything is up to my own personal standard, spending upwards of 20 hours on single textures sometimes. I will make a list of the things I plan on adding. Please give me some feedback, as I haven't had time to thoroughly test these textures in every part of SSE, which has different lighting than regular Skyrim. Keep an eye out for any bugs or oddities you may find.

This looks like a very important comment from jdegenerate.If you're taking out the normal maps as a quick fix, your better fix is just to wait on those textures.

Those normals were there for a reason.Book of silence has meshes because the ebony and glass armors include extra variants, which requires duplicating vanilla meshes and reassigning the textures, then adding them to the game through an esp. Otherwise it's a collection of Cabal's replacers, which generally aren't built for high end machines. If you go to the individual pages, a few of them have 4k versions as optional files. I tried the cabal cut for iron armor out and it seems to work fine. Though working and working right are two different things.

I'm guessing shinier armors might not reflect right, but idk.Personally, I think the textures in SE are pretty nice. Between the 4k Cabal cut and the vanilla steel armor this Whiterun follower is wearing, the steel armor wins. That iron armor was for the birds, though.BTW, textures work out of the box. You don't need to binvaldateolderfiles or anything.
